The WHEATWATCHER project has officially been launched! In 2023, Efund initiated and supported the international consortium, coordinated by Ghent University, in securing funding, under the HORIZON-MISS-2023-SOIL-01-03 – Onsite digital technologies to monitor nutrients and chemical or biological stressors in soil and plants with relevance for food safety and nutrition call. 

In a world grappling with the interlinked challenges of climate change, population growth, and environmental degradation, WHEATWATCHER responds with an integrated, high-tech solution to enhance security, sustainability, and food safety in Europe’s wheat value chain. At the core of WHEATWATCHER lies a robust machine learning engine that integrates sensor networks, remote sensing, automated mapping, and advanced analytics into a seamless Decision Support System. This cloud-based platform makes actionable insights accessible to farmers, agronomists, millers, and policymakers alike.
