ONDEP for … ONdas DE Peniche or Waves of Peniche in English!

This project has been officially launched! Efund initiated and supported this flagship project led by the Queen’s University of Belfast under the HORIZON-CL5-2024-D3-01-08 – Demonstration of sustainable wave energy farms call.

The ONDEP project aims to harness wave energy to provide clean, reliable power across Europe. It will establish a 2MW wave energy farm in Peniche, Portugal, featuring four WaveRoller® units—making it one of the largest bottom-fixed wave energy farms in the world. In addition, the project includes the first comprehensive environmental analysis for wave energy, addressing critical sustainability metrics. 

Efund is also a partner in the project, with the role of supporting the GO/NO GO decision-making process, particularly in securing financial close.
